Marinea

Marinea is a walled harbor city, its buildings constructed from layers of seaweed-dyed parchment. The citizens trade memories of the ocean's vastness for the soft, supple texture of dried seaweed. The city's architecture is a labyrinth of narrow alleys and spiral staircases that seem to lead nowhere, yet always converge on the sound of distant gulls. At night, the buildings glow with a soft, ethereal light, as if the whispers of the copper wire are being translated into a language only the sea can understand. The citizens move through the city with a sense of reverence, their footsteps echoing off the walls as they carry with them the memories of the ocean's depths.
