About the Invisible Sites
The Project
The Atlas of Invisible Websites is an exploration of the "Small Web"—personal blogs, digital gardens, and independent creative spaces that exist outside the major social platforms.
In an era of algorithmic optimization, these sites represent a slower, more human internet. This Atlas attempts to catalog them not as links in a directory, but as literary cities in the tradition of Italo Calvino’s Invisible Cities.
The Method
Each entry in this Atlas corresponds to a real, live website. The description intends to capture the spirit of the site—its architecture, its atmosphere, its laws—rather than its literal function.
This project draws inspiration from the Kagi Small Web initiative.
The Wanderer
You are the Wanderer. You may browse the map, or you may let the Atlas choose your path. Occasional interludes may occur. This is not a bug; it is the drift.
