Cities & Walls

Scojac

Scojac is the City of the Forbidden. It is surrounded by a wall of black basalt so high that it scrapes the clouds. There is no gate. The traveler who circles the perimeter will find no crack, no window, no keyhole. The only sign of life is a low, rhythmic humming that emanates from within the stone itself, like the sound of a hive or a distant server farm.

The city is defined entirely by its refusal. When you approach the wall, you feel a pressure in your chest, a psychic "Forbidden" sign that pushes you back. The air around the city is thick with rejection. Birds fly around it; clouds part to avoid it. It is a void in the map, a blank space that asserts its presence by denying entry.

Legends say that inside Scojac, the streets are paved with gold and the fountains flow with wine, or perhaps that it is a prison where the inhabitants are trapped in a loop of their own making. But no one knows. The city exists only as a limit to the traveler's ambition. It is the place you cannot go, the file you cannot read, the memory you cannot access. It stands as a monument to the things we are not allowed to know.
